In a spirit of collaboration and knowledge exchange, the Permanent Secretary of the Lands Bureau, Mr. Kamar Olowoshago, along with key management personnel, warmly welcomed a delegation from the Federal Capital Territory-IRS on Tuesday. The visit aimed to facilitate a mutual understanding of the Bureau's procedures and processes for managing Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Property Tax within the state.
Led by Mr. Salish Abubakar, Head of Tax Operations at FCT-IRS, the delegation's visit was prompted by the formation of a ministerial committee by the Honorable Minister of the Federal Capital (FCT). This committee was tasked with exploring the implementation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Property Tax, with the overarching goal of enhancing the efficient administration of these tax categories within the FCT.
The visit provided an invaluable opportunity for both parties to exchange insights and best practices in tax administration, paving the way for potential synergies and collaborative efforts between the Lands Bureau of Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory-IRS. Such engagements are instrumental in fostering intergovernmental cooperation and driving advancements in tax governance and revenue generation.
